Join us on Saturday, 16th May 2026, for a morning dedicated to uncovering the layers of Ousdenβs history and landscape. This event provides a unique look at the future of our environment and the treasures of its past.
10:00 AM β The Farm Walk
- The Guided Circuit: We depart from the Village Hall for a 2-mile guided circuit led by Estate Farm Manager, Graham Flux.
- Regenerative Agriculture: Graham will showcase sustainable farming practices in action and welcomes any questions you have about modern agriculture.
- Terrain & Suitability: The route uses working farm tracks that can be uneven or ridged; sturdy footwear is essential. We suggest the walk is best suited for children aged 8 and over. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
10:00 AM β For those not wanting to join the Farm Walk
The CafΓ© is Open:
For those not joining the walk, the cafΓ© at the Village Hall will be open from 10:00 AM for everyone.
- Identify Your Finds: Local people are encouraged to bring along any items they have found in the area! Albi will be available to look at and identify your local finds and offer professional insight.
12:00 PM β Archaeology, Auction & Refreshments
After the walk, we return to the Village Hall to relax and refuel with tea, coffee, sausage rolls, and homemade cake available for purchase.
- Guest Speaker & Heritage Talk: Albi will present a 15-minute talk on local archaeology and display artifacts recovered from the very fields we walked through.
- The Stick Auction Finale: This event will be your final chance to bid on Albiβs beautiful, hand-crafted walking sticks. These unique items are a highlight of the heritage display.
- Note: Bird of prey feathers on the Sticks are included as a complimentary gift to the buyer.
- Q&A: This is a relaxed opportunity to handle artifacts and continue discussions with both Albi and Graham.
