OUSDEN NEW VILLAGE HALL PROJECT
Why a New Village Hall
Whilst Ousden village Hall is a historic building and the focal point of our village, it is in need of considerable repair in the medium term to ensure it can continue to be at the heart of our community. To this end our village hall is preparing for its next episode, where it will be rebuilt following demolition of the existing Hall. Planning permission for the rebuild was approved on 20th October 2023 by St Edmundsbury council.
The new hall will once again be at the heart of the community, providing modern sustainable facilities for the villagers of Ousden well into the future. In order to rebuild the village hall we are in the planning and fundraising phase of the project. Any donations to our new village hall project are most welcome whether from people who enjoy attending our events or from additional one off donations to the charity.
Fundraising for the New Village Hall
We have a number of fundraising events for the new village hall project throughout the year, including our popular Cafe Stop summer cafe, A Ousden Race Night, Village Summer Fete and our Village Lottery. If you would like to be involved in helping at any of our events we are always looking for, and welcome new volunteers.
Ousden Cafe Stop returns from May to September 2025. Our popular summer cafe will be open on the last Sunday of each Month. Everyone is welcome to pop in for teas coffees & soft drinks with cakes & savories. All proceeds are in aid of Ousden Village hall & playing fields charity.
Ousden Village Hall Newbuild Lottery takes place quarterly throughout the year in January, April, July & October. The lottery helps to raise funds for the building of our new Village Hall. Entrants have an opportunity to win generous cash prizes as well as contributing to the Village Hall rebuild project.
